每個小孩都喜歡秘密，也喜歡把東西偷偷藏起來，「藏東西」很有趣，更何況是藏起一隻毛茸茸的大獅子！一個大熱天，獅子跑進城裡想要買一頂帽子。鎮上的人都很怕獅子，他們拿起掃把、擀麵棍…把獅子趕得遠遠的。獅子跑啊跑，跑到小女孩愛麗絲的花園裡。

　　

愛麗絲一點也不怕獅子，她邀請獅子進到屋子裡，她幫獅子拿掉鬃毛上的葉子，幫獅子的傷口貼上繃帶，他們要很小心以免讓爸媽發現。不過，要把一隻獅子藏起來並不容易，牠真的太大了，又太毛茸茸…幸好家裡有好多地方可以躲藏。有一天，媽媽發現了獅子，她嚇得大叫，獅子又跑走了。

　　

獅子這回找到一個藏起來的好地方，牠躲在市鎮廳的廣場前，和兩座獅子雕像在一起。當獅子看到把市政廳洗劫一空的三個強盜，獅子大吼一聲，從雕像的基座上跳下來，英勇的制伏了強盜。牠向大家證明牠是一隻善良的好獅子。而愛麗絲早就知道了！
