貝琳達很愛跳芭蕾舞，每天都很認真練舞，她跳舞時的姿態優雅，腳步輕巧靈活，可是卻有個大問題，應該說有兩個大問題，就是她的左腳和右腳。
貝琳達很想加入芭蕾舞團，可是，參加評選時，評審一看到她的大腳丫就喊暫停，而且不讓她表演，失落的貝琳達只好放棄跳舞去找工作。
她來到一家餐廳當服務生，她的態度親切、腳步輕巧，客人都很喜歡她。有一次餐廳來邀請樂團來表演，她忍不住隨著音樂起舞，老闆發覺後，請她跳給客人看，沒想到，她的舞蹈深受客人喜愛，連大都會芭蕾舞團的指揮都慕名而來。
舞團指揮被貝琳達的舞蹈感動，邀請她到大都會劇院表演。她好高興，在舞臺上盡情的表演，至於之前那些評審們對她的大腳丫有哪些看法，根本都不重要了。
